This Scholarship is dedicated in the memory of the nine individuals, whose lives were taken and the three survivors on June 17, 2015, at Emmanuel AME Church, in Charleston, SC.

It has been established to honor their willingness to open their arms to a stranger, their courage, their ability to strive for excellence in education, their love for others, and most importantly, their devotion to their faith.

The purpose of this Scholarship is to recognize a High School Student who excels in their studies, as well, as serves, in their community.
