This scholarship is sponsored by a member of STAAR Leaders and is dedicated in memory of her mother Jannie Louise Bradley of Sanford Florida. Jannie had 7 kids (4 boys and 3 girls) when she was taken home to glory on January 18, 1975 in Volusia, Florida at the hands of a drunk driver. This caused her kids to be raised in various foster homes.

Ms. Bradley had a wonderful spirit and was loved by all that knew her. She befriended most of whom she met. She was adored by her brothers, kids, nieces, nephews and various family members as well as her large southern community. After all of these years she is still missed by all.

As one of the surviving children, I am told that my mother had strong educational goals for her children. That is why I am sure she would have loved to see all her kids and grandkids attend and graduate from not only high school but college as well. She would have been a strong supporter of higher education and would have been willing to support her kids in any way possible.

Her grandson is a graduate of SUNY Brockport and this would have made Jannie Louise Bradley very proud.

STAAR Leaders Scholarship Committee will proudly grant the Jannie Louise Bradley's Memorial Award annually to a deserving student (male or female) in order to keep Jannie’s memory and her higher education expectations alive.
