Rmani Crawford is 2010 graduate of Webster High School in Webster, New York. He
was on honor roll and placed first in the Urban League of Rochester National
Case Competition - Project Ready. He also received the New York State Regents
Diploma and placed third in the Harvard-Radcliff Essay Content.
Mr. Crawford
is a freshman at Pepperdine University in California. He will pursue a degree in
History. His ultimate goal is to become a
lawyer.
Rmani is involved in many community activities such
as Clean Sweep – a city of Rochester initiative. He is an accomplished musician
who has performed concerts to aid Haiti Relief and Alternatives for Battered
Woman.
According to Rmani, ”I believe U.S. history, no
pun intended, hits home. I can envision my history, your history, our history
making its way back to us step by step as I read through my history book. It is
my belief that I cannot effectively look to the future unless I adequately
understand the past.”
Mr. Crawford
exudes confidence and the determination to succeed. We are excited to have him
as a STAAR Leaders Scholar. The scholarship sponsor and STAAR Leaders are
pleased to have Rmani as the 2010 Eddie
Israel Thatt-Groupp scholarship recipient.
